When we Christian behave badly

That's illogical, no?
Christians could behave un the worst ways possible and still be right about their beliefs, and vice versa.

Well, I hope I did my part this evening to "behave properly". I just got back from participating in my first demonstration in more than 5 year (the last was against the Keystone Pipeline). This event was a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Catonsville Nine draftboard action, in which 9 Catholic priests and nuns burned the draft files at the Catonsville draftboard on May 17th, 1968. A fair crowd showed up (Catonsville is not a large town) representing a cross section of what has commonly been referred to as "the resistance" ever since the Trump inauguration. For a group celebrating an act of civil disobedience, we were remarkably law abiding. The event began at 6:30 sharp, and exactly one hour later one of the organizers announced "We must disperse now. We only have a permit for one hour."

At any rate, I can now say "Been there, done that, got the tee shirt!" I am now the proud owner of a shirt with the words "Catonsville Nine 50th Anniversary" beneath a stylized picture of papers bursting into flame and the rising ashes transforming into birds, flying off. Quite a striking design.

Good thing it was done 50 years ago. Against EPA rules to do open burns now.

The one guy Bill Maher would say he found strangely convincing was Pat Boone. Pat Boone is no theologian and isn't a great debater but he was always just very kind and good. I don't think there's anything more convincing than character, whether it makes strictly logical sense or not.*

A theologically uninformed Christian with incredible personal holiness and love will convince more people than a theological genius who is an abrasive, uncharitable jerk.

(*Though if we have some sort of sensus divinitatis, it does make sense that it would sense the presence of God in a person displaying godly behavior.)

I went downtown to protest Aztec human sacrifice, African slave selling to the West, Chinese foot binding, Muslim female genital mutilation, American breast implants, PP, the NRA and NEA, and every single jackass in the world that doesn't have their head on straight.

I was alone, but it sure felt good.

Dang! Did you have a banner?

(By the way, who/what is PP?)

PP is Planned Parenthood (is there a more childish description to the stark reality of becoming a parent?)

My comment is total sarcasm/fiction. If I did have a banner, I'm partial to the "Don't Tread On Me" flag.

Hah! I guessed totally wrong, figuring it meant something like "Power to the People" or some such thing.

(I assumed your comment was sarcasm/fiction. My question was put in the same quasi-humorous vein.)
