Legitimate investigation

The Mueller investigation is a witch hunt, and a deep state conspiracy, because some of his investigators are Democrats who preferred Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump.
The House Intelligence Committee's report, contending that there was no collusion, was a legitimate investigation, since all of the signatories were Republicans and supported Donald Trump for President.
Makes perfect sense.

I can't understand why our president keeps referring to himself as a witch. Shouldn't he use the term warlock? Besides, there's no "hunt" going on. Everyone knows where he is!

First off, the law regarding the appointment of a Special Prosecutor requires a law to be broken or an alleged crime.

"Russian collusion" is NOT a crime.

2nd, they have called the Wikileaks the product of Russian collusion.

I watched personally Julian Assange who denied the Russians gave him anything. To back this up several Liberal College professors hired an IT guy to investigate the web trail of the wikileak hacks and discovered that the evidence points to someone IN America doing it! Someone with a USB drive and NOT over the Internet.

3rd, John Podesta's emails were hacked thru a phishing attack where Podesta GAVE UP HIS PASSWORD.

4th, The DNC, the Democratic National Committee REFUSED to let the FBI look at its computers.

So what crime has Trump and/or his campaign have committed?

To this day, I don't know. You don't know. Nobody knows.

But what I do know that there was a conspiracy between Clapper, Brennan, Lisa Page, Peter Struch, James Baker, Andrew McCabe, Bruce Orr, His Wife that worked at Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, a Foreign Agent that DID work with Russians, James Comey, conspired to bring down a President on false charges of "Russian Collusion".

Andrew McCabe was Fired. Lisa Page and Baker have just recently resigned. There was a Coup-de-etat ongoing between these people to bring down the duly-elected President of America.

We have FISA abuse. The Steele Dossier NEVER Veted, NEVER authenticated with outside evidence, was presented to the FISA Court to get a warrant to spy and listen into Carter Page's communications and the Trump Tower. James Comey and Andrew McCabe signed off on this in front of the FISA court. They lied to the Judge about its authentication.

UN Ambassador Samatha Powers used her pull to unmask people. She had NO reason to unmask people at all. What does a UN Ambassador doing that? She is a Liberal. Liberals are free to break the law all the time.

From where I stand and from what I hear---IT IS A D---- Witch Hunt. It is the Salem Witch Trials all over again but this time President Trump is the Liberal Boogeyman and he lives in the nightmares of the Liberals.

So Liberals do not really care that government officials lied to get a wiretap on a US Citizen and Spy on an opponents campaign. Why order 6 individuals aka Watergate to break in and steal opponent's documents when you can get a FISA court to do the dirty work for you! Liberals Don't care. Liberals Don't care when UN Ambassador Unmasks people but allege Scooter Libby from unmasking a CIA agent in Africa, and only later learn, she was Never uncover and it was somebody else that unmasked her from the beginning.

Democrats promote lies off the top of their heads, and their lies become reality.

That is why America is a Failed State. There is NO Virtue anywhere in America.

Wheeler did point out a number of verified facts about this whole Russian matter that casts a pretty negative light on the investigation. But it doesn't matter. Even if Mueller declares he found no evidence of Trump/Russian collusion, the left will still think Trump did it. The narrative has gone on too long without needing any actual evidence for Mueller to be able to change anything.

On the flip side, there are enough issues with the conduct of the investigators, particularly when contrasted with Hillary's "investigation", that nothing Mueller says or demonstrates will convince a Trump supporter that Trump did wrong.

No one's mind will be changed by Mueller's actions, beyond further entrenching into our own sides. Mueller says he did it, Trump supporters will blame the Mueller team's conduct. Mueller says he didn't do it, the left will say Trump got away with it and will continue calling him a Putin lackey. And on and on it will go.

All of the above is covered by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Joe Pags, Mark Levine, and Michael Savage---all Nationwide Radio-heads. Fox news covers all of this with guests Dan Bongino who was ex Secret Service, Andrew Napolitano former prosector, Newt Gingrich former Speaker of the House, Finally InfoWars that has Roger Stone who calls this "Russian Collusion Delusion". I mean Roger Stone is there in the thick of the Trump campaign, and you can listen to him on YouTube. He debunks Russian Collusion.

What is happening there Starhopper is that the MSM, the Main Stream Media: CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, The New York Times ARE NOT Covering it! They are talking about Stormy Daniels. The MSM is letting you down Starhopper. I listen to MSNBC. They never cover that stuff. But I listen to Talk Radio that has Sarah Carter that is doing all this investigating into the FISA court.

Rod Rosenstein signed off on the first FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page. Rod Rosenstein is best buddies with Comey and Mueller. Rod Rosenstein signed off on Hillary's Uranium One project and the botched investigation into Hillary's Private Server!

Hillary was NEVER put under oath. Her exoneration letter was typed before they even talked with her. She was given a pass on a Secret Private Server---which is obviously against the Law.

Neither Clapper NOR Brennan cleared the Steele Dossier yet continue to talk of "Russian Collusion". Why Hasn’t Rod Rosenstein Recused Himself From the Mueller Investigation? Here is a Second website about Rod Rosenstein Has Major Conflicts Of Interest In The Trump Collusion Case - Why Is No One Talking About It?

Yes, Why is no one talking about it?

The MSM is hiding and covering up a big scandal about all of this. Now, are all of the above "Tinfoils"? I know what is going on----you don't. Journalism is dead in America. Journalism was never real anyway. They are all demogogues anyway.

From The Federalist website:

James Clapper leaked information on the Steele Dossier

Comey worked hand-n-glove with James Clapper to get a Special Prosecutor convoked using the Steele Dossier that was PAID FOR BY Hillary Campaign done with a Foreign Agent, Christopher Steele who worked with Russian Agents. This Dossier was used 4 times to secure a FISA warrant to wiretap.

I'm not making this up. It's all out there.

The Intel Agencies, the Obama DOJ holdovers/bureaucracy, the Obama FBI holdovers/bureaucracy and elements of the Obama State Department to bring about a Special Prosecutor to use the Steele Dossier as a cover to search for crimes in order to Impeach and get rid of Donald Trump.

Why do they all want to get rid of President Donald Trump, Numero Uno-----Trump dared talk about Stopping Immigration, and Building the Wall!

This sent Clapper, Brennan, Peter Struck, Lisa Page and all the rest over the edge. The Masonic-Bolshevist-NeoMarxist clique had to get rid of President Trump.

It's all about immigration and the Wall. If Trump said nothing about the Wall or Immigration---everything would have been fine. But he touched the Third Rail.

Screwtape Jenkins said...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no Special Prosecutor investigating Trump, is there?

As far as the crimes Trump's likely to be accused of, it's breaking a bunch of campaign finance laws. There is no crime called "collusion," but receiving anything of value from a foreign power attempting to influence an American election is a crime, and very high up people in the Trump campaign (ie his son) at least attempted to do that, as they have admitted.

And no matter which one of his many stories about how Stormy Daniels was paid off you believe, it breaks several more campaign finance laws.

And yes, Hilary Clinton paid for opposition research against Trump, just like Trump paid for opposition research against Clinton. It's SOP for political campaigns. The "foreign agent" who compiled the so-called "pee tape" dossier is a longtime, well-respected BRITISH intelligence operative who specializes in Russian intel. And the Russians he worked with to compile the dossier are AGENTS and SOURCES he used in his former career to gather information on Russian crime activities. They're not members of the KGB or Putin's inner circle, they are sources inside Russia who provide the UK, the US, and their allies INFORMATION on them.

So, most of what Lindsay says is false, except for the parts he distorts. I'm not blaming him, given the sources he cites, he never had a chance of hearing the full story.

As Another once said, "If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!" (Matthew 6:23) And elsewhere, He said, "if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit." (Matthew 15:14)

That pretty much describes Lindsey's postings.

Breaking Campaign Finance laws---is a Financial Penalty---Not Impeachable. A lot of campaigns have broken Campaign Finance Laws---all they did was pay fines.

You guys are soooooo full of hate.

Paying off Stormy Daniels does not rise to Impeachment. All sorts of celebrities have this kind of thing where their lawyers pay off pesky people. Trump is not going to be impeached over Stormy Daniels.

See, I remember Bill Clinton. From his Wikipedia page on sexual allegations: publicly accused of sexual misconduct by four women: Juanita Broaddrick accuses Clinton of raping her in 1978; Kathleen Willey accuses Clinton of groping her without consent in 1993; and Paula Jones accuses Clinton of exposing himself to her in 1991 and sexually harassing her. The Jones allegations became public in 1994, while Willey's and Broaddrick's became public during the 1998–99 time period, toward the end of Clinton's second term as president.

Was Bill Clinton removed from office? No. The Democrats AND the Media covered this up! I witnessed it. So Now we see the double standard of the Liberals. I watched as the whole Democratic Congressional caucus came out on the steps to support Bill Clinton and deny he did anything wrong!

Now, what was accused against President Trump, having an affair, is not even comparable to Bill Clinton who raped, groped, and sexually harrassed women. Democrats and the Media are treating Stormy Daniels very differently. You are all hoping that he is going to get impeached. President Trump's approval ratings, today, according to THREE New Polls AP, CNN, ABC, are rising!

President Bill Clinton had sex with an intern in the White House---is that not Harvey Weinstein paradigm? Democrats didn't care.

You have such a hatred for Trump that you guys can't see straight.

Trump is no saint. But he is going to build The Wall and Stop Immigration. That is why I voted for him and will keep supporting him.

Would that be impeachable?

Tucker Carlson who is quite the News anchor of his own show has come to the conclusion that the Mueller Investigation is a Witch-hunt:

“Even as ominous signs accumulated, we struggled against calling the Mueller investigation a partisan witch-hunt designed to topple a president,” he said. “We didn’t want to think that it was. Unfortunately, it’s getting harder to deny that now.”

Comment after reading Judge Ellis comments on Mueller's investigation that it is solely to get Trump. Tucker getting harder to deny that the Mueller probe is a partisan witch hunt designed to topple the President

Let's review the record, shall we?

Our president is a person who:

- bilked people out of thousands of dollars with a fake university scam
- repeatedly stiffed contractors, many to the point of their businesses failing due to unpaid bills
- made his living off of encouraging others to sin (casinos)
- racially discriminated in his apartment/condo businesses
- made racial slurs against Hispanics
- blasphemed the Holy Eucharist
- says he has no need to ask for God's forgiveness for anything
- insulted war heroes and POWs
- insulted a Gold Star family
- mocked disabled persons
- would like to turn the USA into a banana republic, where political opponents are jailed ("Lock her up")
- colluded with a hostile foreign power to interfere in the 2016 election
- laundered money for Russian gangsters through shady real estate deals
- refused to divest from his businesses, thus turning the presidency into the biggest"pay for play" scheme in American history
- practices nepotism on a grand scale
- considers anyone who did not vote for him to be his enemy
- lies every time he opens his mouth
- sexually harassed at least 15 women (and that's just the ones we know about), and payed hush money to keep his sleazy affairs secret
- supported a child molester for high public office (Judge Moore)
- threatens the free press, and falsely maligns them when they tell the truth about his many crimes
- has repeatedly and continuously obstructed justice almost since the day he took office
- embarrasses the US both home and abroad, making millions ashamed to be Americans
- is a horrible example to our children (who could possibly point to him as a role model to emulate?)

I could go on, but I think the record speaks for itself.

This article lays out what I think is really going on:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/05/robert-mueller-must-expose-trumps-crooked-business-empire.html

Money quote:

Money laundering would be criminal activity. If you are involved in criminal activity, you are subject to blackmail. And if the criminals who can blackmail you have connections to a foreign government — say, Russia — then that government has blackmail leverage. Ten years ago, Donald Trump Jr. casually said, “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.” And as recently as 2014, Eric Trump told a reporter, “We don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia,”

I don't think there's a pee tape. I don't think Trump asked Russia to help him win the election or actually colluded with them in any explicit quid pro quo (his idiot son having attempted to do so notwithstanding).

I think he's been flat out laundering money from Russia for decades and Russia knew if they helped him win (even without his knowledge or consent) they could use that to blackmail him. And that's exactly what they've been doing since he's been in office. He's consistently bent over backwards to protect Russia and Putin from facing any consequences from their actions, and Putin is the ONE PERSON in the entire world that Trump flat out refuses to criticize or even defend himself from when Putin insults him. Like Trump suddenly switching business strategies once he started borrowing money from Russia, and like his first action after securing the nomination was to remove language about sanctioning Russia from the party's platform, that is not a coincidence.

Kevin said...

While I would not put it past Trump to be involved in such a thing, there wasn't a shred of actual evidence in that hit piece unless I simply missed it. Just speculation that could turn out to be true or not, and even if it isn't true will still be believed by the author.

Screwtape Jenkins said...

The author admitted that there wasn't public information currently to prove it, but it's what any reasonable person would assume, or at least be highly suspicious of, given the publicly available facts:

1. Trump had a reputation for defaulting on loans and by the mid-90s couldn't get loans from US banks.

2. Russia suddenly started handing the Trumps a huge amount of free cash.

3. As evidenced by public admissions from Trump and Trump Jr themselves, this influx of Russian cash turned their financial situation around and made them healthy again.

4. Russian banks are fairly notorious for being owned and run by oligarchs with ties to organized crime. It's hard to believe that anyone could be almost entirely dependent on Russian banks for financing without a) being aware of this and b) being complicit in it.

5. Trump has been shockingly defferential to only one person in the world since he's been elected President - Putin. He doesn't respond even when Putin insults him. He blocks tried to get the Magnitsky Act, which traps Russian money in the US, overturned. He interferes with American attempts to sanction Russia, as he did recently after Russian agents assassinated a defector in Britain.

6. Breaking with decades of precedent, Trump is the first President to refuse to release his tax returns or share any financial information with the public.

All of this heavily implies an obvious conclusion: that Russia has Trump over a barrel over his illegal business dealings with them.

Can this be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law based on what the public knows now? Probably not. Is it the best explanation of facts 1-6? If it's not, give me a better one.

Starhopper said...

"All of this heavily implies an obvious conclusion: that Russia has Trump over a barrel over his illegal business dealings with them. Can this be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law based on what the public knows now? Probably not."

Maybe so, but what's really suspicious is that if Trump were truly innocent, he could dispel all doubt in an instant by just releasing his tax returns. The only reason I can think of for him not doing so is that he is as guilty as sin, and knows the damning evidence is in those returns.

Victor Reppert said...

Fact: Clinton WAS impeached over Monica Lewinsky.

W.LindsayWheeler said...

The author admitted that there wasn't public information currently to prove it, but it's what any reasonable person would assume, or at least be highly suspicious of, given the publicly available facts:

This is how Liberals and Democrats operate. Senator Reid just expressed that Romney didn't pay taxes. No evidence---just alleges something---it did hurt Romney but there was no evidence of that. And the media ran with it. No fact-checking. This is how Democrats operate.

Now, Chad Handley, taking cues from Rachael Mad-cow-Maddow, says "no public information" but we assume

That is it in a nutshell! No proof of blackmail. No evidence---We assume.

The MSM just assumes stuff. Prints it. And then this is the cue for Mueller to investigate because the Dems plant stories in the MSM---must be true, and so this becomes the impetus for investigation.

There is NO businessman alive that is has not slanted this-n-that. In today's world, we have all broken some law. So what the Dems and the Media have done, is they have Rocket Mueller, set loose to discover crimes of his business dealings! They will find something.

But what does this have to do with his campaign and Presidency?

Here is a man who has sacrificed a lot, to serve his country---and because of his message---the Dems are on a torpedo course to destroy him. What is the message that you Starhopper and Chad Handley are telling people out there---don't dare run---or we are going to destroy you.

Chad Handley, Starhopper, Victor Reppert. Us Trump supporters look at what you are doing---and you disgust us. You call us names, "deplorables", Obama's words "Flyover country" with their Bibles and guns, You hate us.

There is NO country anymore. As the Maverick Philosopher notes, there is NO center to America. As the Left becomes increasingly rabid---it forces us on the conservative side to become even more rigid.

Your hate and your inability to live by the Rule of Law has destroyed this country. When this dissolves into a full blown civil war, Starhopper, what are you and Chad and Victor going to do?

Bill Clinton made 35,000 dollars a Year as an Arkansas Governor. He is worth now a couple of hundred million! The Clinton Foundation, anybody? Pay to Play? No investigation.

Trump on the other hand earned his money working building stuff that people use. What has Bill Clinton done for the Economy? N-O-T-H-I-N-G. He just gabs at the mouth.

"Guilty as sin". We are INNOCENT till proven guilty, boyo.

You are not my "fellow citizens", but enemies. And you guys are working hard to destroy using law to destroy your political opponents. America is already a Banana Republic. Clinton and Obama already turned it into such. Saul Alinsky anyone? Hillary Clinton was an Alinskyite. Marxists destroy every country they inhabit.

Let me remind you, people, the National Security apparatus, sucks up all electronic voice, word communications. If they had the evidence of blackmail---the Liberals, like Clapper and Brennan would have already leaked it. There is a ton of Chad Handleys in our Intel, FBI and DOJ. They would have leaked it immediately. Nothing stops them! So where is the evidence of Blackmail?

There is NONE. It is all just "ASSUME". NO evidence. you just assume.

On October 30, 2017, Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates surrendered to the FBI on charges brought by Mueller. That day, his team revealed former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos had pleaded guilty on October 5 to making false statements to FBI agents about contacts he had with agents of the Russian government while working for the Trump campaign in 2016, and was cooperating with investigators. On December 1, Flynn pleaded guilty to "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI, and later announced he is cooperating with Mueller's investigation and "working to set things right".[1]

On February 16, 2018, Mueller released two more indictments, the most prominent one charging 13 Russian citizens and 3 Russian entities.[2] On February 22, 2018, Mueller released new charges against Manafort and Gates.

As of February 23, 2018, Mueller has secured guilty pleas from five people: Flynn, Gates,[3][4] Papadopoulos, private citizen Richard Pinedo,[5] and Dutch attorney Alex van der Zwaan.[6][7][8][9] Additional indictments have been issued against Manafort, thirteen Russian citizens, and three Russian entities. On April 3, 2018, van der Zwaan was sentenced to 30 days in prison, and fined $20,000.[10]

According to former FBI Director James Comey, Trump himself was not a subject of the FBI's investigation as of May 9, 2017, when Comey was fired.[11] As of March 2018, Trump is reportedly a "subject" of the investigation, meaning his conduct is being looked at, but not a "target" which would indicate the likelihood of criminal charges.[12] The question of an interview with Trump has been under negotiation between Trump's attorneys and representatives of the special counsel since at least January 2018.[13] Trump's lawyers reportedly have advised him against a wide-ranging interview with Mueller.[14] The Associated Press reported on May 1, 2018, that in March 2018 Mueller broached with Trump's attorneys the possibility of subpoenaing Trump to compel him to testify; CNN reported that Trump's attorneys were preparing for a protracted "legal showdown" over the matter.[15][16]

The person that ran Trump's campaign Barach, who hired Manafort, is a Roman Catholic and worth billions himself has nothing but the highest respect for him. Guiliani knows him.

These people would not be associating with him if he was a crook.

At his university, he had all sorts of people who valued and got a good education from his university. It was only a few disgruntled individuals who sued and then pushed by his enemies in New York.

He is not a saint; I voted for him because of his platform. So far, today, ending the Iran deal, moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, tax cuts, deregulation, he has so far kept his campaign promises. He has done more than Ronald Reagan has.

I never voted for George Bush. He was an Internationalist. He was not a conservative. I never voted for McCain nor Romney---they are all Globalist, Internationalist traitors. Yea, they spoke nice. They were weenies. President Trump is a fighter and has commonsense. He is not a globalist like Clapper, Brennan, the Clintons, the Bushes, the McCains, the McConnels, the turn coat yellow-bellied wus Paul Ryan.

Nothing he did in the past is Impeachable. Impeachment is for what goes on IN office. You are trying to dig up Old Past assumed crimes to get him what? Impeached? For something 5, 10, 15 years ago?

It ain't happening. Mueller and Rosenstein have got to go. All those supposed indictments are all PROCESS crimes! What proof does Mueller have of a real crime? The supposed Crime of Russian Collusion? And then Starhopper jumps to Stormy Daniels. That is not going to pan out. Then Chad jumps to his business dealings. Neither Daniels nor his businesses have nothing to do with Russian collusion. Mueller needs to go. The investigation went on long enough. They have NOTHING.

All of Mueller's prosecutors, all 17, are rabid democrats, Trump haters. We are going to get Justice from them? You'd think if this was fair, at least 5 or 7 would be republicans, right? why 17? Even Drug Cartel and Mafia investigations don't have that many prosecutors on the case! This is a Witch Hunt.

Special counsels tend to go all over the place. Starr's investigation didn't start over Clinton's testimony, either.

Was Bill Clinton removed from office? No.

Al Franken was, and for far less egregious conduct.

President Bill Clinton had sex with an intern in the White House---is that not Harvey Weinstein paradigm? Democrats didn't care.

You are correct. In the 90s, nobody cared about these things, except when they thought they could get politcal mileage out of them. Perhaps you are stupid enough to think Gingrich, who was in the middle of his own extra-marital affair at this came, cared a great deal about Clinton's affair, perhaps not.

People care now, and plenty of Democrats have been removed or damaged as a result. Did you miss that, or do you just not care?

And then this is the cue for Mueller to investigate because the Dems plant stories in the MSM---must be true, and so this becomes the impetus for investigation.

So far, Mueller has 5 convictions on 4 different people, with 28 charges pending against Manafort. So, there was indeed something to investigate.

Trump on the other hand earned his money working building stuff that people use. What has Bill Clinton done for the Economy? N-O-T-H-I-N-G. He just gabs at the mouth.

What has Trump built? By contrast, We went from economic recession at the start of Clinton's term to boom at the end of it.

Here is a man who has sacrificed a lot, to serve his country---and because of his message---the Dems are on a torpedo course to destroy him.

What has he sacrificed, specifically?

Tucker Carlson who is quite the News anchor of his own show has come to the conclusion that the Mueller Investigation is a Witch-hunt:

Tucker Carlson is not a news anchor. He is an entertainer and a performer offering opinion pieces, and does not hold himself to the standards of journalistic ethics. He is a great way for some people to reinforce what they already believe, and not be challenged by new information. I'm sure he appeals to you.

All of Mueller's prosecutors, all 17, are rabid democrats, Trump haters.

This is a lie you have chosen to repeat.

As Doric philosophy teaches, "All things are by nature". This is why there was such a huge effort in education of the young. Most importantly, the young were hardened. Plato has a curious saying that is borrowed from the Doric Greeks, "The Good comes thru the Hard". Hardness of Life produces a certain character. Softness another. One can't have a rule of Law with the Soft. The Soft operate on emotions. Is this not what drives the Kyklos, the change of government, by the character of the people in the state? Is this not what ends Plato's Republic which is based on the Doric states of Crete and Laconia? The Kyklos changes due to the character of the people.

I'm one of the last of the John Wayne Generation of America which is being superceded by the Frankfurt School of Commies which seek a Softened populace for the furtherance of socialism.

Trump is part of the Old Generation, the John Wayne Generation of America. That is why he is so irritating to the Left, to the Democrat Party, to Academics, to the Media, to RHINOs, to the Grahamnesties and McCainites of the Repuke party.

This is ultimately about the Nature of the citizen of said country. Notice that Mueller is being sent on a Search and Destroy mission----because of the Wall and Immigration. This is what its all about. It is the War between the Gnostics and the Traditionalists. Between the Globalists and Internationalists and the Nationalists. This is only a repeat of the Spanish Civil War, the American Civil War, and the Serbian/Muslim war of Yugoslavia.

America has NO racial cohesion, NO religious cohesion, NO ideological or even '''Propositional''' cohesion anymore. How can one run a society on this? There is no society in America. And this is all by Nature.

President Trump has won on many levels already. He has exposed the Deep State. He has also brought to the surface the real agenda, the real feelings of the Left. He has exposed the fallacy of journalism in America. President Trump has exposed the false society of America. In my book, he has already won mightily. He has done a great service.

Can't wait for this Cold Civil War to break Hot.

Just Today, the Stormy Daniels lawyer just makes up crap, probably has leaked documents from the Cohen raid, which should have not even been read yet, but that is of NO matter. There is no Trust in America.

No one is safe in America. That Cohen's office has been raided---scares the bejeezus out of me. From the Anti-Fa riots, to the Cohen raid, to FacebookGoogleTwitter censorship of conservatives---well, America is over. There is no center. There is no Rule of Law. America has become the Rule of Emotion. The American male has become womanish; America is for all purposes a Female state. All things are by Nature. What the Mueller investigation exposes is the Female, Globalist, Internationalist, Gnostic nature of America pushing back against the last gasp of the dying John Wayne culture of America.

17 Rabid Democrat Trump-hating prosecutors will make sure of that. And this will only enrage the rest of us.

Go-ahead and dance. But what is ahead is only a dystopian future of a Mad Max Society. It is already here.

Well, since the "smoking gun" has now been uncovered, I guess we won't be seeing any more tweets about a so-called witch hunt or there being no collusion with Russia. The truth can be a son of a bitch. It may take forever to come out, but when it does...

Kevin said...

What smoking gun? Went to CNN website, since they would reliably report anything bad for Trump, and didn't see anything.

Starhopper said...

Legion,

Check out here and here.

Kevin said...

Ah, I had seen that previously. Guess nothing in it was any more alarming to me than any other politician who knows someone who got money from Russians - or, in the case of the Clintons, directly received the money from them. I would be surprised if the Cohen payment amounts to anything damaging, let alone inpeachable.

Starhopper said...

Are you serious? This isn't just a smoking gun - it's the bullet.

Besides, if you're going to use what the Clintons did as an excuse for Trump's behavior, then you can't criticize the Clintons for anything, unless you're also willing to condemn Trump.

Screwtape Jenkins said...

So, Legion, you don't even see smoke here? You see no indications of a fire?

The number of connections Cohen has not just to Russia, but to known figures in the Russian mafia? The fact that one of these known mafia figures funneled $500,000 dollars to Trump's personal lawyer AFTER Trump was elected?

The fact that Trump got tons of money from Russia, has a lawyer who is surrounded by Russian mobsters, and now we know has been receiving payments from Russian mobsters, all for a president who has been very deferential to Russia in every way he can... All this amounts to a big "nothing to see here" to you?

No, none of this has been demonstrably proven yet, but it's gotten to the point where a reasonable person who cares about the country ought to be concerned that the President is compromised.

And while there is no objective legal standard for "impeachable," I would again argue that knowing you've had illegal dealings with Russia, and knowing that you are therefore subject to blackmail by Russia, and hiding that from the American public, is the gold standard of an impeachable offense. I ask again - what could be more impeachable than being beholden to a foreign power? Could there be any better reason to remove a person from office?

Kevin said...

I hadn't seen the information with Cohen having connections to criminal elements. That's a far more serious possibility than anything that's been thrown at him thus far - but also thus far, Cohen is the only one with any evidence against him. Not Trump.

I'm thrilled that Hillary lost, one of the greatest days ever, but I was not happy that Trump won. If he gets busted I won't care beyond whatever the fallout may be, but I'm waiting for actual evidence of Donald Trump's wrongdoing, not implications based on associates. If that's the standard then Obama was a racist drug-using Truther who armed criminals and...well I'd better stop.

Just like Mueller, I predict Cohen will not bring Trump down. Not even close.

Screwtape Jenkins said...

From a strict legal standpoint, I don't think we know enough about what Mueller and the state of New York have to say confidently make predictions. I think it's safe to assume they have more on Cohen than is public knowledge. Mueller got granted a no-knock, early morning search warrant against him. That indicates to me that they could show the judge SERIOUS probable cause of some pretty major criminal activity. So, I'd urge caution about the predictions.

But strict, provable legal liability aside, don't you think this goes pretty damn far towards establishing that collusion really went on? I mean, you think a Russian oligarch with mafia connections was paying Cohen $500,000 and that had nothing to do with Trump? He was just handing that money over to Cohen, a glorified ambulance chaser, out of the goodness of his heart, with no intention of getting anything out of Trump out of it? Like, say, getting his name off the list of sanctioned Russian oligarchs?

Marsha Clark never brought OJ down, but that doesn't keep most of us from believing that he got away with murder. Mueller might never find a definitive smoking gun with Trump, but I think it's getting to the point where it's flat out UNREASONABLE to think that Trump has no problematic connections to Russia that make it legitimate to ask whether he's fit to continue to be our president.

Here is a summary of the Clinton crime family:

The Clintons underwent a multi-year investigation by a zealous prosecutor. All that was found was lying about an affair with an intern, and covering that up. What do you suggest be done about that now?

Starhopper said...

I'm always amused by Trump supporters who respond to valid criticism of the current administration by saying, "Bu-bu-bu-but Clinton!"

Two things about this:

1. Why are you still obsessed about the Clintons? They are ancient history, and will never again be a significant factor in US politics. Are you that upset over the Teapot Dome scandal?

2. It is a classic example of tu quoque, a logical fallacy.

Because (a) liberals always accuse others of what they have already done!
(b) because you are hypocrites. And Liberals do NOT care about being hypocrites.

IT DIDN'T Freakin' matter when Clinton did it---But IT DOES MATTER NOW because its Trump!

That is Liberal reasoning! That is ILLogical! Logic Starhopper---REQUIRES, REQUIRES Consistency!

What do to do about it Now? Shut up about Trump! You didn't say anything at the time about Clinton---so NOW be consistent, be honest---Be quiet about it now! Shut up about Stormy Daniels. Did not the Demoncrat party tell us that private sex lives DO NOT MATTER!? Yes they did.

NYT reported that there was an FBI informant in the Trump Campaign! There may have been two! Watergate? Here you have Hostile government bureaucrats Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe, Bruce Or conspiring to derail, wiretap, spy on an opposition campaign for Obama/Clinton and they are using FBI resources to spy inside the campaign!

And where is the Press? You really are sanctimonious pieces of .... Watergate is wrong but sending FBI agents to spy on a opposition candidate? Yes, that's fine by liberals who cried crocidile tears of about shredding the constitution under Watergate!

W.LindsayWheeler said...

Rush Limbaugh:

“If you want to draw a Watergate parallel, you have to draw the parallel not to Trump. Trump hasn’t bugged anybody,” Limbaugh said. “Trump has not planted listening devices. Trump does not have informants. He did not have informants in the Hillary campaign. That was all Obama! Nixon’s Plumbers, they left a bug inside the headquarters. It didn’t work. Obama put an actual human being in Trump’s campaign! Nixon knew nothing about the ‘plumbers.'”

“But what did Obama know about the mole in the Trump campaign and when did he know it?” he continued. “So if you really want to draw the Watergate analogy, it points right to Barack Obama. Note: None of that is being investigated. Not a single shred of it. Not a morsel of that is being investigated. In fact, I believe that this entire investigation of Trump is actually a cover-up of what the Obama intelligence community — Department of Justice, FBI — did to try to nail Trump during the campaign and to corrupt his transition period after he won the election to destroy or paralyze his presidency.”

Well. In 4 days it will be the 50th anniversary of the Catonsville Nine Vietnam War protest. I moved to Catonsville last November from Baltimore, and the town has had a month of commemorative activities to honor the nine Catholic priests, nuns, and lay activists who courageously took a stand against the war and against injustice in general.

I am encouraged by today's Resistance Movement, the Women's March, Black Lives Matter, the March for Life, and the ongoing teachers' strikes. Democracy, though under siege by our own government, is far from dead!

Starhopper said...

Here are the planned activities in my town for the anniversary. I will be attending the vigil this Thursday.

Conservatives do? Everyone holds their own tribe to lower standards than teh disliked tribe. It's unfortunate.

Be quiet about it now! Shut up about Stormy Daniels. Did not the Demoncrat party tell us that private sex lives DO NOT MATTER!? Yes they did.

The media (not the Democratic party) is running with the Daniels story, because it makes them money. I don't give a rat's turd about the affair. Breaking campaign finance laws to hush it up seems relatively minor, as scandals go.

And where is the Press? You really are sanctimonious pieces of .... Watergate is wrong but sending FBI agents to spy on a opposition candidate?

They were sent to spy on Russians. that led them to Trump, not the other way around.

Yes, that's fine by liberals who cried crocidile tears of about shredding the constitution under Watergate!

You do love to whine.

Fusion GPS’ Glenn Simpson Dined With Russian Lawyer Before & After Her Meeting at Trump Tower
HERE

What this all was, was a Counter-intelligence operation conducted as a sting operation which which fed statements to patsies such as Papadapoulos which then would produce ""evidence"" of Russian collusion. The Cabal, the Deep State of Clapper and Brennan, Hillary, Comey Obama, to entrap the Trump campaign in order to destroy his campaign. It is all a set-up on false pretenses. Fusion GPS is what created the Steele Dossier which was then the foundation for the spying campaign against Trump. This is worse than Watergate.
