I'm a China scholar. I don't know how it might fit into Plantinga's bestiary, but I think this kind of comparison provides very strong evidence for the Gospels, and puts some of the skepticism into context.
This is adopted from my book, Why the Jesus Seminar can't find Jesus and Grandma Marshall Could, but inspired by a debate about evidence for the Gospels on Amazon.
I am the author of C. S. Lewis's Dangerous Idea: In Defense of the Argument from Reason, published by Inter-Varsity Press. I received a Ph.D in philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989.
