Philosophy looks at chess

This looks interesting. But I'm going to wait for Dennis Monokroussos to review it before I decide whether to buy it or not.

Dennis is a better chess player than I am.

I once produced a TN in the opening.

Some Grandmasters looked at it, and after extensive computer analysis, extending over several days, they worked out that the best response to the new move I had come up with, was to ask 'Do you want to take that one back?'

Steven: In ChessBase I found a game between an S. Carr and a Timothy Brown, which S. Carr won. I have always wondered if that was you. Tim is a former Arizona state champion whom I managed to draw a couple of times, but was at his peak a 2300 master.

Though, my database has S. Carr as a Canadian. But the game was played in London in 1995.

That wasn't me.

Having looked at the game, it seemed like a real off day for Tim. No brilliancy by whoever S. Carr is.
