I wonder if Amy Sayers (the author of the piece) believes that Joseph Smith found golden plates and magical spectacles buried in upstate New York in 1823?
Carrier's argument is very crude indeed -- not the worst argument on the subject that I've seen, but the competition at the bottom is very fierce. Sayers's critique could be better written, but she is clearly right on the main points.
