Bill Vallicella Rates the Philosophers

And finds that a bunch of theists are on the top seven. It's arguable that Hume was a theist of sorts as well, in spite of his use of the argument from evil and his criticisms of theistic arguments.

Aquinas is important but derivative in many ways. Descartes and Kant were much more original. Berkeley was the sharpest and clearest of the british empiricists (Hume is more radical though). and as someone said, Hegel is not even on the list.

I would place Plato and Kant on top of the list as the two most original and influential and just darn brillant thinkers. Aristotle comes in a close third.

Is it true that Hume and Kant dated?
