If God opposes homosexuality, do we owe gay people an explanation as to why?

Here is a question which I have struggled with a lot of late. Suppose we conclude, based on Scripture, that God considers homosexual conduct to be wrong. And suppose a person struggling with homosexual desires asks the question of why God condemns such conduct. That seems like a reasonable question to me, but do we owe them an answer? What would it be?

Let it be known that the First Way does not violate any known laws of physics, biology, mathematics or any other law of the various sciences or philosophy. No small animals are harmed, nor are greenhouse gases emitted. It is fat-free and good for you like the Truth always is.

Turned the corner to 401. :-)

But it was so pretty at exactly 400 :,(

Have a good one bmiller! Ignorance is bliss!

I'm glad you're feeling blissful.

Most of the time yes, but you really don't see what you're unaware of here, that's what's funny. You keep repeating the same errors! And you're proud of it, seeing yourself as a teacher... so ya, ignorance is shielding you from the realization of how wrong you are about just that 1 thing.

I probably would never have been motivated to look up how muscles move if not for this discussion.

Legion already provided a link with a short explanation of how myosin and actin interact to cause the mechanical motion of muscles, but Khan academy has a couple of videos that give more detail

Myosin sort of crawls along actin:

And while doing so, sort of ratchets 2 opposite strands of actin together thus pulling the walls in.

Here's an animation of the action

So numerous (and particular) muscle strands are activated by particular nerves to cause myosin to ratchet along actin like a ratcheting strap closing a suitcase. There are other sensor nerves that provide feedback on the present position so the animal can make fine or coarse adjustments.

It's fascinating to see you not realize how this isn't helping your case at all. But I'm glad you're learning stuff.

Watch out though, you might just learn why the First Way is so wrong if you keep going... you seem to prefer preaching, sorry teaching, its conclusion. So that might become a problem!
