Obama on religious liberty

He does say this about opponents of same-sex marriage:

I think it’s important to recognize that folks who feel very strongly that marriage should be defined narrowly as between a man and a woman, many of them are not coming at it from a mean-spirited perspective. They’re coming at it because they care about families. And they have a different understanding, in terms of what the word “marriage” should mean. And a bunch of ’em are friends of mine, pastors and people who I deeply respect.

But figures in his administration have not followed this up with their policy statements and actions,  unfortunately.

they haven't? Not even last night? you know they are not in office anymore, right?

Just change "have not followed" to "did not follow", and the sentence reads perfectly. Consider it a typo.

I don't claim to be expert because I was a total fan boy for Obama. He might as well of have been Stan Lee. I do see things he did with which I disagree, but compromising religious freedom was not one of them.

You do realize that even those who are not mean-spirited, and coming at their understanding from what they want to be a position of love, are still capable of causing great pain? Should their lack of harmful intentions mean we have to allow them to cause pain?
