The Christian Response to gay marriage? C. S. Lewis says R-E-L-A-X. Or was that Aaron Rodgers?

It's hardly justifiable to extrapolate from Lewis's weak suggestion about an arguably broken form of marriage — and ignoring the "quite sharp" distinction Lewis calls for — to something that isn't marriage at all.

People do everything in gay relationships that they do in straight relationships except conceive children. And many marriages, including Lewis's marriage and my own, fail to do that.

That's like saying soda-pop does everything a glass of milk does except nourish you. Or that a con-man does everything a legitimate businessman does except provide a service.

And many marriages, including Lewis's marriage and my own, fail to do that.

Do you think there's a difference between a con-man, and a legitimate businessman who tries to provide a service but fails because something goes wrong?
