Interesting. The historical record shows that Christianity actually slowed the spread of the plague, and in many cases hindered it. The Roses of Eyam is a wonderful drama about a Medieval English village that voluntarily sacrificed itself to prevent the further spread of the disease in England. Their motivation was Christian Love.

This heroic self-sacrifice occurred countless times across Europe in the 14th Century.
