Is Gummint the problem? Try Living Without It

Ronald Reagan said the scariest words in the English language were "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

C. S. Lewis says and I agree with him that the problem is when the pretensions of government get pitched too high. Government is necessary, but when it is made a panacea for all our problems it becomes dangerous.

"Limited government" does not mean "living with no government". It's not like we have to choose between socialism and utter anarchy.

I live in Maryland, and funny thing, I didn't see any of those anti-government nuts protesting about the county and state snow plows digging us out from 70 inches of snow this winter. I'd say government is a great thing to have around when you really need it.
