What about alien life?

Why believe there are, or are no, aliens? I don't think we've been visited (and if we have I don't think they are very interested in us), but I wonder how you would settle the question of life on other planets?

Much like an afterlife, one's position on ET is most likely directly correlated with one's worldview. An atheist or theist who believes life arose as a matter of universal natural processes would most likely have to conclude the odds of there being other life to be pretty darn good, given the sheer number of planets and moons.

But there isn't any way to prove it.

I'm not sure about "pretty darn good", but life on other planets is not out of the question, whether you are religious or not.

Given any such life would be tens of thousands of light-years away, finding it would be trickly.
