Mormon polygamy
A Mormon believes that God spoke first in the Bible, then in the Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, and now though the Prophet, Seer and Revelator of the Mormon Church. Mormons actually believe that in the time of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, God allowed plural marriage, but Prophet, Seer and Revelator William Woodruff claimed to have heard from God in the late 19th Century that plural marriage had to stop. Of course the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints does not believe that Woodruff really heard from God on this, and so they continue to practice plural marriage.

It would be just so much easier if God would just open a twitter account.
Sunni and Shia Islam also accept polygamy. But I'm not sure what the purpose of the OP is.
Of some interest is that, although polygamy is unquestionably in the Old Testament, it is never sanctioned. Far from it, in every case I can think of off the top of my head, the Patriarchs and others in the OT who practiced polygamy did so to their great sorrow and misfortune. It is inevitably a source of familial strife and discord, and in the case of Solomon, positively ruinous to the nation.
Note also that the practice began, not with the Patriarchs, but with the descendants of Cain (Genesis 4:19-24), and the institution was from the start one of sexual violence and oppression.
Throughout The Bible, both Old Testament and New, marriage is never anything but the sanctified union of one man and one woman, a visible sign and a "type" of Christ's love for His Church.

And it's just a really, really big coincidence that Woodruff had this revelation after the United States Congress required that Utah forbid polygamy, as a prerequisite for Utah to be admitted to the union as a state.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
Maybe God is a pragmatist and wanted to work with the union. :)
