I did a debate once in grad school and it was a lot of fun. I'd be up for doing it again, Vic, if you need a sparring partner. If you'd be so kind, would you let me argue for atheism?
If you feel like a trip to New Zealand sometime, we'd probably host some kind of debate, I'd be super keen (we have a couple of loud atheists in these isles.) Has the added bonus that if it went belly-up it wouldn't be too well advertised!
Victor, could you also consider doing a radio debate? A great setting for that kind of a debate would be the "Unbelievable?" radio program (see http://www.premier.org.uk/unbelievable for details). They are always interested in new guests and debate topics. The argument from reason would be a very interesting topic. So perhaps you should contact Justin Brierley (the host) and tell you're interested in participating.
