Lewis apparently had this wrong

Lewis said that dogs don't understand pointing. According to this report, he didn't have this right.

Link?

Anyway, it must depend on the dog or something, because my dog completely understands pointing. In fact, if I would prefer him to go around the coffee table instead of between the coffee table and the couch (the wagging tail can be a problem), I just have to motion the route I want him to take.

Does anyone know the breed or breeds of dogs known to Lewis? The article suggests the type of dog matters.

Quite right: Lewis may have been right about the dogs in his experience, but not all dogs.

I will have to try it out on Frisky (a mix) when I get home.
