Why religion is not going away and science will not displace it

Here.

It takes some superficial readings of history to think otherwise.

See also Religious belief is human nature, huge study proclaims from 2011.

The conclusion: "And the Oxford study, known as the Cognition, Religion and Theology Project, strongly implies that religion will not wither away, he said. 'The secularization thesis of the 1960s - I think that was hopeless,' Trigg concluded."

"Religion is not going away any time soon,"
It already has gone away to a very large degree in its influence, its claims, and its membership. The religious are just in denial about all that.

The young and the educated are turning away from religion in droves.

" and science will not destroy it."
Science has already destroyed much of the creationist claims, the anti evolution claims, and the grip religion used to have.

" If anything, it is science that is subject to increasing threats to its authority and social legitimacy."
Pure bullshit wishful thinking. Science is getting stronger all the time and religion is getting weaker all the time. Fact.
