Are
Christian permitted to say “Well, God put (or allowed to be put) this
commandment into the Bible because circumstances in Bible times were thus and
so. This is no longer the case, so the commandment should not be binding on
us.”

the one hand, I have never been to a church in which I have not heard a female
voice, yet, there is a verse that says “Women should be silent in church.” This
is typically explained in terms of the lack of education for women at that
time. On the other hand, people love to sin, and it is easy to find “motives”
why God might have proscribed the thing we want to do, so as to avoid doing our
duty.

[Jesus said], "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."
They said to him, "Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?"
He said to them, "For your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another, commits adultery."
(Matthew 19:6-9)
Here is a truly great discussion of this topic. like with everything that Paul writes, there's always far more than what immediately meets the eye.
Just posting this to try out my new image.
