The Pittsburgh shooting

The idea that it is OK to hate somebody because who they are has gained currency over the last few years.

But this comes from the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh.

Leader of Islamic Center of Pittsburgh announces Muslim community has raised more than $70,000 for synagogue attack victims and their families. "We just want to know what you need ... If it's people outside your next service protecting you, let us know. We'll be there."

Want to know how to make America great again? This is it.

Lots of people don't believe in being civil to those who disagree with them. Much better to demonize as much as possible short of calling for outright violence, apparently.

Thank God it seems there are still those of us like you and I who do.

Internet definitely distorts how things actually are. I have a guy on my FB friends list who is very left of center and an atheist, and we occasionally rip each other apart for a while. Then we ask when our next breakfast get together will be, and we never argue in person. But social media definitely plays its part in polarization.
