WHO exactly is Tim McGrew?
Shouldn't philosophers be contributing to phil websites?
I'm not saying that lay people can't be learned on the topic, but come on, you wouldn't take plumbing advice from a carpenter.

Uh, Tim McGrew is a philosophy professor at Western Michigan University, and until last year he was the department chairman. If you don't know who Tim is you're in, well, company.

Not to get on a soapbox, but this is indicative of a new "Twitter" culture. If it can't be read and understood in less than 200 characters, it's not worth knowing, and certainly not worth any effort to research.

It would have taken about 5 SECONDS to google Dr. McGrew and find out. Put in "Tim McGrew" in a google search and by the second listing one would have discovered his credentials. It's a scary example of the utter lack of follow-through and critical thinking that is modern culture. I fear for the future of knowledge.

I'm pretty sure anon is being facetious, an homage to Loftus.

Ah of course. I need to change the oil in my sarcasm detector.

I'm still concerned about Twitter-Nation though. Kids these days....

Sorry,
I didn't know who Tim McGrew was.
And yes, I did google him but a screwball site called "Whats wrong with the world" came up.
I thought you were referencing some guy who might have posted something you liked before in the past and confused your liking of his threads as an assumption of his authority on various topics.
