A brilliant article. But I don't agree that Lewis "took a low view of scientists." He in fact denied that, and I find his denial credible. Also, while Lucas' distinction between saying the Tao is universal, and showing that its precepts are universal, is a sound one, Lewis does recognize and address differences among different cultures in Abolition of Man. His argument is more subtle than Lucas represents it on both points.
