Now I've seen everything

Here's something I expected to see about the time hell freezes over. A Republican commercial extolling one of the Clintons because she "told the truth." Politics makes strange bedfellows!

This is truly a peculiar course of action for the McCain campaign to take, and one which I think is quite embarrassing. Although some might be “persuaded” by such an ad, I personally find it hard to believe how one could take this seriously. Of course you’re going to find something negative about your opponent in an election. When candidates start congratulating each other, saying that the person they’re running against should really be the one in office, please let me know. This is just as superficial as the attempts to portray Obama as a celebrity. While some commentators have stated that Obama is somewhat vague on certain positions, ads focused on popularity have nothing to say about the issues at hand. Consequently, Clinton has explicitly endorsed Obama. In addition, I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to find similar footage decrying McCain. My overall intention here is not to back either candidate, but simply to state how silly they can be.
