Obama's speech on religion

I am redating an old post, which seems to suggest to me that Obama showed, at this point in his career, some capacity to listen to pro-life concerns. I posted this on primary day last February, but it seems relevant to our current discussion.

I'm still an undecided primary voter even today. But this is interesting.

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

Do you know what the Missouri Governor's statement is referring to? More importantly, do you care?

And, if we dig a bit deeper into history, are you aware that the sort of tactic being referred to is actually SOP for Obama? And do you care?

ilion: They just agreed to personally correct people when those people lied. Everything else is media hype: no legal action was ever condoned.

I hope it is SOP for him and his supporters to confront lies about Obama (e.g., he is a Muslim, he raped an American flag, etc) with the truth.

These candidates actually disagree on substantive issues, so there is no need to sew controversy out of thin air.

Calm down. The last week was Obama's, the next week will probably be McCains. Two weeks ago the liberals were all freaked out. This will go back and forth some more.

I'll hand it to Victor, he's got guts posting this stuff on a blog with likely mostly conservative readership. I am shocked at how many of my Christian buds are voting Obama. I had assumed they would go for McBush.

Ilion apparently "forgot", given his uncritical, head-in-the-sand acceptance of hype against Obama.

Isn't this cute? "Charlie" imagines I'm going to get into a pissing contest with the likes of him.

As for BDK's "explanation:"

Ah, yes. They refutation by eyeroll. Well-played.

It is a group of people supporting Obama, some of whom are lawyers and in law enforcement. There are absolutely no plans to persue criminal charges or anything ridiculous like that.

The link you provided is from an ideologue that is misrepresenting the facts.

So, you should perhaps ask yourself if you know what the Missouri Governor is referring to. Not what he says, but what the group actually is.

Here is a video of the Truth Squad folks. The idea that they plan to confront lies via lawsuits and strongarming is just incorrect. They will confront inaccuracies via public statements correcting the misinformation. McCain also has truth squads. Just google it. Indeed, Obama stole the name from McCain!
