Why the disdain for the gnostic gospels? I saw the link you put up before, but it was mostly philosophical rather than historical.
For instance, were the Gnostic gospels part of the pool that was considered (but rejected) for inclusion in the New Testament by the staff of people that put it together?
I know nothing about this topic. Is there well-written scholarly/historical treatment of it?
