Does he really think that the evidence doesn’t support
ongoing Russian interference (ongoing is the key word)? If yes, he should commit to combatting it, if
no, he should say that the while intelligence community is full of baloney
instead of pretend to respect it. He can't have it both ways.
Of course he'll waffle. Republicans won't call him out on it, and Democrats will demand the evil Nazi resign no matter what he does. So why not waffle?

I get concerned when foreign governments attempt to influence our elections in ways that break US law. We have laws against the kind of influence peddling that the Russian government and its agents have done. If a Russian oligarch can legally contribute some money to an American campaign, I have no complaints. That's the principle.
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats, for the most part, have not called for impeachment or resignation. All they want at this point is that the investigations be allowed to continue unhindered.
ReplyDeleteUS laws regulating foreign influence in elections is a topic I know very little about. But, as a citizen it would not hurt to try and learn more. As with many of the topics you post, you have made me curious. Thanks.

It's utter blindness to ignore what's coming, Trump obviousness wants Putin to triumph over Europe. Trump is working to cut off negate NATO as an effective force capable of blacking Pitin so when he makes his move to re-consolidate all the USSR lost territory and to take back the old eastern block there be no Opposition in Western Europe.

If only they had listened to me back when I was a young and impulsive 19 year old, the world would be a better place.
ReplyDeleteIn the mean time, I'm trying to understand US election law and foreign influence. So far, I would say Mexico and China have the greatest national and economic interest in US elections (both favor Democrats).

Dave, first rate sarcasm it was. Do you not get that Japan and Germany were much pressing problems than Bulgaria when we enervated the war? They were much more powerful, Japan had attacked us. China is not going to attack anyone but Putin is. He will be take in Eastern Europe in the next couple of years because he already tried it in the last few years.
