    Given the track record of religion being responsible for the deaths of so many people, I'd rather stick with the scientists.

    Fortunately, Skep, you don't have to make a choice. There is only one truth, and it is possible to "stick" with all of its manifestations.

    This is a classic case of the False Dilemma fallacy.
