I skimmed the book in the bookstore a long time ago. If I remember, the major part of the discussion involved Lewis's Trilemma argument. I don't think the book came to a definite conclusion as to the argument's strength.
The Klan (and...Dallas PD) ..were, far more than likely than not-- involved in JFKs assassination (another shooter, along with LHO--most likely mafia patsy). Posters of JFK had circulated in Texas days before the shooting--and what do Klansmen think of "Marians" ? Look at pics of JFK's autopsy for hints
(Note Ad hominem VR, this trolls fave tactic). Are you mentally ill, or just too stupid to read, parbouj?
In fact the Dallas PD theory is a fairly accepted theory among JFK conspiracy buffs--but it's a bit complex, so don't worry yr head about it, h**o de p*ta.
Mania is you, parboo. You're the irrationalist and peasant here, not to say stalker--perhaps upset to hear someone claim that Dallas PD whiteys were involved in JFK's killing? yeah (and...most likely a LDS troll, ex-druggie, theatre qu**er, etc, yeah, you, bubba)
Typical is you defending wingnut rightists, Yakkie.
Did you hear, Yak., the LA RC Diocese itself even opposes Feser's wingnut "catholicism?" Maybe go back to the neo-con right, where you came from--with EF the Randian, until, what, 18 months ago.
Awesome Yak? That will be ...well, wait n' see. Heh heh.
You're a right-winger, though obviously not a christian (including "Catholic")in any meaningful sense. Maybe we find yr comments on Feser's pro-torture threads.
Thanks for the reminder. I forgot all about it. Who was it that wrote a book about the three of them meeting in limbo in the afterlife?
ReplyDelete@Bilbo, Peter Kreeft

ReplyDeleteA meeting like that (I've never read the book) would make a great stage play!

ReplyDelete@Bilbo, you remember correctly. Now if I remember correctly, Kreeft defends the Trilemma as sound.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the name of the book is "Between Heaven and Hell".
May God grant mercy, peace and a blessed repose, in Christ, to all three of them.
ReplyDeleteI see TruthOverFaith has been utterly embarrassed by VoxDay's post, to the point that he's changed his name. LOL. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly Kreeft not only defended the argument but presented an interesting alternative formulation.
ReplyDeleteTwo distinctions:
(1) Those who have claimed to be God vs those who have not.
(2) Those who are widely recognised as sages vs those who are not.
Cross apply those two distinctions to get four groups of people. Now ask yourself how many people (past and present) are in each group.
I'll leave the reader to join up the dots.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! (Signing off until Monday)

It ought to be our national anthem!

ReplyDeleteJ are you mentally ill? Seriously.

J: it just isn't worth the effort it would take to reign in your mania with reason. Ad dementis is more like it.
ReplyDeleteVictor's blog truly attracts an interesting following!

ReplyDeleteSo J is making a "Your no True Atheist/skeptic/Agnostic/non-believer" attack on parbouj?

Ilion says I'm a liberal and J says I am a Neo-Con.

Two questions for ya J.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of drug are you on &
where can I score some?
Cause it must be some heavy s**t!
Our Savior is speaking to us!!! Please google "Jesus appears on a dogs ass" for an important message from Christ our Savior!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd perhaps all Christians should inspect the assholes of their pets, just in case Jesus is "asshole hopping".
Praise our Savior!!!!!!!
See? ToF is back to his old name, since the previous one was transparently obvious. He's bad at hiding.
ReplyDeleteNo drugs Yakstein.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, a Nixonite such as yrself surely feels no regret over JFK's death.
And Aldous Huxley! Why, ....pagan infidel there, right, Y.
>No drugs Yakstein.
ReplyDeleteThen you are without excuse.
