"My country, right or wrong" is a thing no patriot would ever think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying "My mother, drunk or sober." - Chesterton
"A proper patriotism is an attachment to one's people and country, and a willingness to defend its legitimate claims while fully respecting the legitimate claims of other peoples."
I'm Bilbo, but I forgot my password, and I'm too lazy to go through the process of retrieving it or getting a new one. Suppose it is true that people in our government have sold our country to China. Would this be patriotic or unpatriotic?

Could this be behind the recent declarations/assertions of sovereignty by several States?
Maybe that was just fools hyperventilating. Let's pray so.
ReplyDeleteI just read this:

John Rawls, The Law of Peoples
